Isadore Soifer – Alex North – was an American composer born December 4, 1910 and died September 8, 1991.
Best known for writing the music for the song, Unchained Melody, one of the most recorded songs of the 20th century. He charted 31 times between 1955 and 2010, 27 of those being with Unchained Melody.
