“Hello! My name is Yoshino. I am originally from Japan and moved to London in April 2019 since London is such a vibe. I become a resident at the Total Refreshment Centre and recorded my third album ‘Crispy Moon’. I started the project Yama Warashi (山童) – which means a small child-like spirit which lives in the mountains – in Bristol in 2015. The music is inspired by Japanese folk dance, free jazz, tribal African music and psychedelic music. The project has been mostly a band formed from  2-7 pieces with amazing and lovely friends and musicians. We made one EP, Moon Zero, and two albums, Moon Egg and Boiled Moon with the band members. Lots of songs are about the moon.
I am moved back to Japan now, but will be back in London occasionally. I am performing mostly as a solo at the moment. I recorded piano music in my mother’s house in Japan in 2023, the EP At My Mother’s Piano is coming out on 14th Feb 2025 from PRAH Recordings”.

Yoshino’s music has a dreamy evocative sound with a shadow of moon cakeinspired by Japanese folk dance music, Bon Odori (盆踊り), free jazz and African music with a slice of electric psychedelia. Yama Warashi (山童) means a small child-like spirit which lives in the mountains.

Due to all the variants of this title having no barcode or information other than the same catalogue number, this could be black, blue/gold or gold vinyl, the original pressing or a repress.
