Goat is a Swedish experimental fusion rock band, showing influences from afrobeat, hard rock and jazz. According to the band’s original story, it comes from a Norrbotten voodoo sect in Korpilombolo, but the seven members live in Gothenburg. The members wear masks on stage and have not officially published their names but use various aliases. The ensemble is two singers, two guitars, electric bass, drum kit and congas. The singers perform intricate dance numbers during the suggestive ritual-emphasized gigs.
This is the original Score made by Goat for the Shane Meadows directed, BBC series THE GALLOWS POLE. The Goat tracks that made up the ‘score’ (5 brand new pieces) and tracks that appeared on the soundtrack (3 songs from Goat’s back catalogue) were released digitally to coincide with the airing of the series. This vinyl edition is going to be slightly different: it will not feature the back catalogue tracks, but it will contain the 5 brand new score tracks plus 1 or 2 (TBC) unreleased score tracks that were not used in the final edit of the series, making this vinyl edition unique.
This is a limited edition LP of 3000 copies on coloured vinyl. There is a bonus 7″ on black vinyl in a black die-cut inner sleeve in a gatefold sleeve, with stickered shrink wrap for Record Store Day 2024.
