Polly Jean Harvey – P J Harvey – (born 9 October 1969) is an English musician and singer-songwriter, and is now an MBE. Harvey began her career in 1988 when she joined Bristol band Automatic Dlamini as a vocalist, guitarist and saxophone player. In 1991, she formed an eponymous trio with Rob Ellis and Ian Oliver. After the second studio album, Rid Of Me (1993), the trio evolved into a solo act.
