Electric Wizard is a doom metal/stoner rock band from Dorset, South West England, England, United Kingdom, that was formed in 1988 under the name Morbicus. In 1989, the band changed its name to Putrefaction and then to Lord of Putrefaction. In 1991, the band changed its name to Thy Grief Eternal, in 1992, to Eternal and finally, in 1993, to Electric Wizard. In 1993, the line up consisted of Jus Oborn (guitar, vocals), Tim Bagshaw (bass) and Mark Greening (drums). After releasing 4 albums – among them Come My Fantaics (1997) and Dopethrone (2000) – Bagshaw and Greening left the band in February 2003, forming Ramesses. Oborn has since continued the band with his wife Liz Buckingham on second guitar, and various bassists and drummers. Rob Al-Issa played bass on We Live (2004) and Witchcult Today (2007) while Shaun Rutter played drums on the latter, plus Black Masses (2010). Greening briefly returned to the band for 2014 album Time to Die.
