Peter Edward Baker, known as Ginger Baker, was a British rock and jazz drummer, composer and producer
(19 August 1939, Lewisham, London – 6 October 2019, Canterbury). His career began in jazz groups, then was with the Graham Bond Organisation, Cream, Blind Faith, Baker Gurvitz Army, Bruce Baker Moore and Hawkwind (this is not an exhaustive list). His assimilation of African rhythms into his drum patterns was both innovative and influential and Horses and Trees sees him working with African and other musicians.
