Bernard Herrmann was an American composer and conductor.

Died December 24th, 1975, Los Angeles, USA.
Recognized for his original film scores, many of which were for the films of Alfred Hitchcock. These include Psycho, North By Northwest, Vertigo, The Trouble with Harry and Marnie. Other major scores include Taxi Driver, Citizen Kane, Jane Eyre, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Jason and the Argonauts, and Mysterious Island. He has remained un-credited for decades for the well-known Suspense radio show theme aka The Wailing Theme which was originally composed by Herrmann for the radio drama series that was broadcast on CBS Radio from 1942 through 1962. The iconic intro and outro to The Twilight Zone is also his. He passed away the day that he finished the score for Martin Scorsese’s Taxi Driver.
