Richard Thompson, OBE (born 3 April 1949, Notting Hill, London, England) is a British songwriter, guitarist and recording and performing musician. He made his début as a recording artist as a member of Fairport Convention in September 1967. He was married to Linda Thompson from 1972 until 1982 (divorced). Since 2019, his partner is Zara Phillips. He was awarded the Orville H. Gibson award for best acoustic guitar player in 1991.
This is his score for Werner Herzog’s 2005 documentary film of real-life in the Alaskan wildnerness – an instrumental masterpiece.
